EuropeanOceanDays2024
  02 January 2024

From March 4th to March 8th, 2024, European Ocean Days will be a week of events related to European maritime topics and unite visionaries, investors, and philanthropists within the sphere of marine conservation and sustainable development.

Day 1 - Matchmaking Event: On 4 March 2024 and kickstarting the week is a half-day matchmaking event orchestrated by the Mission Ocean Service Portal. This unique gathering focuses on fostering connections between charter endorsers and forward-thinking actions, providing an ideal platform for engagement with investors and philanthropists invited.

Day 2 - 2nd Annual Mission Restore our Ocean and Waters Forum: On 5 March 2024, an annual gathering essential to the ongoing efforts to restore and protect our ocean and waters. This event serves as a dynamic platform, fostering a united Mission community, enabling networking, and showcasing best practices. With the Mission Ocean and Waters initiative gaining momentum, the Forum promises to be a hub of collaborative discussions, knowledge sharing, and the unveiling of innovative strategies.

Day 3 - Where Next for Europe’s Seas?: On 6 March 2024, an event that aims to contribute to reflections on what future priorities might be for Europe’s Seas. The specific feature of this event is that discussions would aim to address and bring together, as a whole, the broad range of stakeholders involved in all relevant EU and international policy initiatives relating to Europe’s seas and maritime activities. Thus participants from all relevant sectors are welcomed.

Day 4 - BlueInvest Day: On 7 March 2024, gathering of visionaries, entrepreneurs, and investors committed to fostering innovation and sustainability in the EU Blue Economy. This annual event is designed to catalyse investment and innovation initiatives within the Blue Economy, promoting sustainability and transformative impact across industries.

Day 5 - Ocean Literacy in Action: On 8 March 2024, improving public knowledge about the ocean. This event will bring visibility to the collective achievements of the three communities of the EU4Ocean (platform, youth forum and network of blue schools) as well as international initiatives on ocean literacy (with IOC-UNESCO). It will also showcase the importance of ocean literacy in Europe and beyond, including its role in supporting sustainable blue businesses, and R&I/Mission Ocean projects.

In this context, it is of great importance that all stakeholders from our country, including public institutions, private enterprises, national/regional/local authorities, philanthropists, investors, non-governmental organizations and academia, participate in the Ocean Mission Charter by pledging an action.

Travel support to a limited number of participants for the Matchmaking Event (upon invitation) and the Mission Restore our Ocean and Waters Forum is planned.
